Displaying hidden files and folders

Click on my computer from your desktop or start menu. In the menu bar at the very top click on Tools. In the drop down menu click on Folder Options. In folder options click on the view tab.

Click the option button that says  'Show hidden files and folders' Then select okay to leave this area.
You will now be able to view these hidden files when you use windows file explorer or use my computer to drill down to files and folders on the c: drive. To avoid leaving windows files and folders open to damage or accidental deletion by other users, it is recommended
to return to this area and  select do not show hidden files and folders when you have completed your task.
